Yesterday I heard that 110 schools in Scotland have ordered class sets of The Highwayman’s Footsteps. This is phenomenal news and I’m thrilled and proud and excited. I love to think of so many children in P7/Yr8 classrooms enjoying (I hope!) my adventures of Will and Bess.
I am beyond grateful to the teachers who chose the book for the Active Literacy scheme, a scheme that seeks to move away from reading schemes and into real adventure. Thank you to whoever made that decision and to all the teachers who will work with my book and my characters. It means a lot to me and I have to admit it also helps me survive financially, though that is the less important aspect.
For anyone’s interest, there’s a downloadable double-sided poster here.
And I’d love to hear from any teachers and pupils who’ve read the book. Do ask me questions! And if anyone would like a signed copy, do see my shop.
